Wright's career, which spanned the period from the mid 1800's through his death
1959, produced in excess of 1,000 projects, at least 400 of which were built (it is hard
to come up with an exact number since some of his designs continue to be built since his
death) . The following is a listing of built projects, presented in order of
completion date, as recorded by William Allin Storrer in
"The
Architecture of Frank Lloyd Wright, a Complete Catalogue", 2nd Ed. (1982).
Storrer lately updated his work with "A Frank
Lloyd Wright Companion (1984). A
new (3rd Ed.) version of the "Complete Catalogue" is due out in the
Spring. "Storrer's original project numbers appear in red.

At the time Storrer's catalogue was published, scholars still believed that the library
was somehow connected to the Dana Residence. It was not until after 1982, when the State
of Illinois purchased the Dana Residence, that it became clear that the library was
intended for an elementary school. I've listed it here, with the Dana Residence, even
though its completion date was believed to have been in 1905.

copy of the book,
Frank Lloyd Wright's Larkin Administration Building: Myth & Fact
by Jack Quinan. It is the definitive history of the building and the
circumstances surrounding its demolition."

Unity Church [Unity Temple & Unity House], c. 1904, Lake Street at Kenilworth Avenue, Oak
Park, IL 60302
This project was named Unity Church when it was designed, housing both a temple to the
North and a parish house to the South. In 1994, the congregation of the church united with
another local religious organization and the entire building is now referred to as Unity
Temple. For the sake of consistency, I went with the original project title.

This project is tough to date. Taliesin I, built in 1911 was partially demolished in 1914
after a fire. Taliesin II was demolished in 1925 and rebuilt as Taliesin III. I know
that's
an oversimplification, but I went with Storrer's date of 1925 for Tal III. If you don't
know the story, read a biography on
Wright...this period in his life makes for particularly interesting reading. The
Hillside School is incorporated here as it is in Storrer.
